About Us

Hi, I’m Alexis, the hands, heart, and creator of Naked Earth Botanicals.
My journey began in the kitchen — I trained as a Red Seal Chef, where I learned the importance of quality, precision, and working with real, natural ingredients. But it was my lifelong love of nature that eventually drew me out of the kitchen and into the garden.
I’ve always felt most at home with my hands in the soil. Over time, that pull toward the earth deepened into a passion for herbalism — learning how plants heal, nourish, and connect us back to our roots. I’m now working towards my master herbalist diploma with Wild Rose College, where I’ve studied the chemistry and energetics of herbs, and how to extract their beneficial compounds through careful harvesting and infusion.
Many of our products begin with pasture-raised tallow from local farms, carefully rendered by hand in my home kitchen, while others are rooted in plant-based oils, botanicals, and natural minerals. I work with ingredients I forage or grow in our gardens, we also support local herb growers whenever possible. We carefully source herbs and ingredients we can’t forage or grow in our zone from suppliers who share our respect for the earth.
My process blends the precision of craft with the intuition of the natural world — slow, intentional, and rooted in respect for the plants and animals that make it possible.
Alongside my husband, Matt, who keeps our operations running smoothly, and Dana, who brings the creative storytelling and visual heartbeat of the brand to life, we craft every product in small batches in our Manitoba apothecary.
Naked Earth Botanicals is more than skincare — it’s a return to connection.
To the soil. To tradition. To the simple truth that what we put on our skin should come from the same earth that sustains us.
